MZ6-120-DS triple PTC thermistors for electric motor protection
The MZ6-120-DS three cores PTC thermistor is designed for over-temperature protection in electric motors. It features fast response, compact chip size, and long-term stability. Embedded in motor stator windings, the PTC elements detect overheating and trigger motor shutdown to prevent damage (When the temperature up, the resistance of PTC thermistors will rise at the same time).
Typical Applications
- Home Appliances
- Industrial Control
- Automotive Electronics
- Medical Devices
- Temperature Alarms
Overview
PTC thermistors operate based on their positive temperature coefficient of resistance. This means that as the temperature increases, their resistance also increases. The relationship between temperature and resistance is characterized by a significant rise in resistance at a specific temperature known as the Curie point.
key features
- Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC): The resistance value of a PTC thermistor increases with rising temperature. When the temperature reaches a certain critical point (known as the Curie point), the resistance value will increase sharply.
- Self-Resetting Capability: The resistance value returns to its initial state after the temperature drops, eliminating the need for replacement.
- High Precision: Exhibits high sensitivity around the Curie point.
- Fast Response: Quickly responds to temperature changes.
- Wide Operating Temperature Range: Suitable for environments ranging from -40°C to +150°C.
applications
- Home Appliances: Rice cookers, ovens, water heaters, etc.
- Industrial Control: Motors, transformers, heating equipment, etc.
- Automotive Electronics: Engine temperature monitoring, battery management systems.
- Fast Response: Quickly responds to temperature changes, etc.
- Medical Devices: Temperature controlled equipment, monitoring instruments, etc.
